About Me

My name is James Bullis and I am a tech head out of Northeastern Oklahoma. I’ve been addicted to computers since I was first introduced to my first Apple II while in elementary school in the early 80′s.  During high school I realized that I could combine my love for writing, art, and interest in electronics by focusing on web design and development.

I studied at one of the first schools in Oklahoma to offer curriculum on the topic.  Luckily this was after the “bubble” burst and I was able to learn from the mistakes of others before getting into the business.

I worked in manufacturing while going to school and learned many of the methods of streamlining and documentation that actually makes my management of web projects effective. You may have heard of some of the little companies I worked for: DuPont, Boeing, and Tyco.

I also worked for years in customer service speaking with people from all walks of life as an Account Supervisor for DirecTV.  This experience helps me care for my customers with empathy and understanding.

After school, I became a Director at a Tulsa Internet firm in charge of web development.  When I took the job, the average website was being completed in about a year’s time but after implementing new techniques we were able to get sites completed in as little as two weeks.  Because of this, I was able to manage over 135 websites in a single year.

I learned a lot from that experience and I continue to learn more each day.  I have not arrived, but I think I am cruising down the highway at a pretty fast pace.

So what is Finding Innovation?  Its a place where I reveal and document some of the latest technology trends that I think will actually benefit small and rural companies.  In our age, there are some pretty amazing tools available out there and I just want to be able to share them with anyone.
